Silicates Supplier & Distributor
Silicates are compounds of silicon, oxygen and a metal such as sodium, potassium, calcium or aluminum. Liquid sodium and potassium silicates are alkaline, bind and seal well, and are used in detergents, adhesives, cements, coatings and corrosion control. Solid silicates such as calcium silicate and aluminosilicates serve as anticaking agents, fillers and absorbents.
NTC supplies silicates through chemical distribution and can include them in formulations through custom blending and toll manufacturing. Browse the list below or request a quote.

Customers buy silicates from NTC in Home Care & Industrial Cleaning, Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers & Plastics, Water Treatment, Mining, Chemical Manufacturing. See all industries we serve.
Grades and forms
Liquid silicates are specified by their SiO2 to metal oxide ratio, solids content and density (for example Baume). Solids come as powders or granules. Tell us the ratio, concentration or particle specification you need and we will check what is available.
Packaging and delivery
Depending on the product and quantity, silicates can be supplied in bags, supersacks, drums, totes (IBCs) or bulk truck. We confirm packaging and freight on each quote. NTC ships to customers across the United States and internationally, and lead time and freight are confirmed on each quote.
Silicates FAQ
What does the silicate ratio mean?
It is the weight ratio of silica to sodium or potassium oxide. Lower ratios are more alkaline and dissolve faster, higher ratios are less alkaline and form stronger films and binders.
Can liquid silicate be shipped long distances?
Yes, although freight is a large share of the cost for a water-based product. We quote delivered pricing to your location.
Is sodium metasilicate the same as sodium silicate?
They are related but not the same. Sodium metasilicate has a fixed 1:1 ratio and is sold as a solid builder, while sodium silicate solutions come in a range of ratios.
How is pricing set?
Pricing is by quote, based on product, grade, quantity, packaging and delivery location. Request a quote online or call 704-659-3682.
Can I get the SDS and specification?
Yes. Ask for the Safety Data Sheet and specification or certificate of analysis when you request a quote.
Can you get better pricing on bulk silicates?
Often, yes. NTC combines your order with our other clients' volume to secure bulk pricing most companies can't get on their own, and passes the savings directly to you.
